Books
Becoming a youth services librarian exposed me to the scope of literature for young people and to the gaps in representation, content, and accessibility. When it comes to books, I mostly enjoy writing middle grade and young adult novels that are realistic and humorous, though I also find it important and necessary to reflect on life and the world through drama.

Fun facts
– I have worked in libraries in five states: Illinois, Missouri, Texas, North Carolina, and California (in that order).
– Researching my genealogy has led me to some surprising discoveries about my family, including the revelation that my twin sister and I are actually identical, not fraternal!
– Every now and then, I also get inspired to write songs.
